Real3d Scanner V3

Build your own structured-light 3D scanner

Real3d Scanner V3 enables you to assemble a structured-light 3D scanner from a single camera and a video projector. The application provides a focused workspace for capture, reconstruction, and export.

Structured-light 3D scanning

Application UI
A typical hardware setup: a camera, a video projector, and the object to scan.

With Real3d Scanner V3 you can perform structured-light 3D scanning on any object. All you need is a camera (a webcam or any other type) and a video projector.

Hardware requirements

  • One projector to project fringe patterns onto the scanned object.
  • One camera to capture the projected patterns. Any camera with a DirectShow driver is supported — most consumer and machine-vision cameras qualify. If your camera does not ship with DirectShow support out of the box, ask the vendor for an updated driver; many provide a small .bat or .cmdfile inside the driver package that enables DirectShow.
